So far on schedule...

Writing from Library in Alamogordo, NM, where I graduated high school. Walking in the door, I met a woman I briefly dated. We chatted for a while and got caught up. She has nine children now, and is home schooling them all. I asked no questions about that. Stopped here to use a free library computer as planned. Had to get a guest pass, and get in line. Computers heavy in use, looks like mostly high school students. They have our old high school annuals here, and since mine disappeared years ago, I'm going to have a look at ours before heading out to three rivers to camp for the night before heading over to Gila Wilderness tomorrow to meet people for a backpack trip.Spent first night out at Llano River State Park in Junction, where night temp dropped to 23 degrees. I was plenty warm in my sleeping bag, in the covered back of my truck. Second night at Balmorhea State Park was much milder. Beautiful but windy. On way to Balmorhea, stopped by Alpine cemetary and sat at Tom Connor's grave for a spell. Windy as hell all the way across West Texas and here in Alamogordo right now. Dust in the air and darker than usual. More on Sunday, after Gila Wilderness excursion.
